What is natural language to SQL?

Natural-language-to-SQL translates a question into a database query. The question describes an intent; the SQL states the filters, joins and calculations used to answer it. Inspecting that SQL helps reveal an incorrect interpretation, but does not by itself prove that the data or result is correct.

Validate a small example

  1. Use a non-sensitive file with a total you already know.
  2. Check missing values, duplicate rows and the date range.
  3. Inspect the generated SQL and compare one result with a manual calculation.
  4. Keep the question and assumptions with the exported answer.
