SQL query scan estimator

Estimate the data a hypothetical scan might touch. This browser-only calculator does not generate SQL, inspect data, run a query, predict latency or quote a bill. Your question and inputs are not sent to a query backend.

Use 100% for a conservative full scan. A filter does not automatically skip physical data; lower this only as a hypothetical pruning scenario.

How to interpret the estimate

Estimated rows = MiB × 1,048,576 ÷ average row width. Estimated scan bytes = dataset bytes × assumed scan fraction. These are size assumptions, not optimizer measurements. CSV parsing, compression, indexes, column selection, caching and parallelism can change actual work. Returned rows are not scanned rows.

The question classifier only looks for a few English keywords suggesting aggregation, sorting or joins. It cannot infer a real execution plan. Joins may read additional tables not included in your size input. No dollar estimate is given because billing models and execution resources differ. QueryAI’s own current workflow accepts CSVs up to 25 MB; larger inputs here are hypothetical scenarios for other environments.
